Labels:text | screenshot | font OCR: The Renaissance of Florence The art, architecture, and music of a remarkable era. You will become a visitor in Renaissance Florence, guided by the "eyewitness" accounts of the 16th century author Vasari, who wrote the first book on the Renaissance and who knew many of the period's greatest artists. With your host, you will visit the artists' workshops and the back alleys of the Quattrocento and marvel at the great monuments and works of art. You may interrupt the narration at any point to consult the Renaissance dictionary, a reference tool that explains all terminology and that even includes examples of Renaissance poetry, written on-screen in English translation, with the option of listening to a reading in the original Italian. Several video clips illustrate the city's monuments, and the entire program is accompanied by a soundtrack of music of the era recorded on period instruments.
